The Detail
Our Wearing Metal branded parts are primarily produced in
Sheffield, UK by one of Europe’s fastest growing suppliers of
replacement agricultural components.
Using their extensive range of machinery including laser cutting
tools, CNC machines, a 500-tonne mechanical press and a
600-tonne counter-blow hammer forge.
Quality
All Wearing Metal parts are manufactured to stringent quality
standards using chrome boron and high-grade steel which is
quenched to achieve the desired strength and hardness for each
component. Improved hardness helps to reduce overall costs by
extending the life of the part, meaning less downtime and
greater peace of mind.
Every production batch is manufactured, tempered and
hardened as necessary and then checked for dimensional
accuracy and quality by a team of quality inspectors in an on-site
lab.
Parts are checked again at OPICO to ensure that they fit together
correctly. Key wearing parts fitted with tungsten carbide are also
available. The addition of tungsten carbide reduces wear,
downtime and ultimately the cost of ownership, providing up to
five times the life of a standard part.
